The Digital Institute collaborates with Newcastle University’s researchers to design and harness these technologies for everyone’s benefit. The Digital Institute brings together academics from the full spectrum of academic disciplines including science, engineering, medicine, healthcare, mathematics, biology, social sciences, the arts and humanities. These interdisciplinary collaborations have resulted in more than £40 million of research funding.

The main aims of the Digital Institute are to:

  • Build and support multi-disciplinary collaborations to tackle key challenges
  • Disseminate information by: documenting and publicising work from across Newcastle University
  • Act as a “front door” for digital research at Newcastle University, working closely with external organisations
