Scope

Chemical engineering is a process for taking raw materials or chemicals and processing them into useful materials and / or chemicals. This process may be employed on a micro to industrial scale to produce pharmaceutical, biological or energy products. This process often involves digital technologies in both the production phase and in the design phase both for prediction of optimal designs and for the modelling of potential outcomes, both good and bad.
