iLAB:Interaction

iLAB Leader: Patrick Olivier

Scope

iLAB:Interaction focuses on interaction with computers in everyday settings and the role on technology in making people's lives more meaningful. This covers many of the fields of computer science including human-computer interaction, computer graphics, artificial intelligence and computational linguistics. The work within iLAB:Interaction goes beyond the confines of computer science to develop interaction technologies and reflecting on how people relate to digital technologies. This draws on the insights from people's work and play from many different perspectives.

This work has lead to collaborations with artists on digital jewellery, where jewellery can have an interactive affect with the wearer, and the ambient kitchen which is made aware of the people in it and what they are up to.
